Terms of Service
Last updated November 1, 2026
Thank you for learning with Misbatiya. These terms cover the Misbatiya app, Premium subscriptions and this website. We have tried to keep them short and plain.
1.Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Misbatiya. By creating an account or using the Misbatiya app or this website, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use Misbatiya. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these terms.
2.Who can use Misbatiya
You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it, to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
3.Your account
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your password to yourself.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us if you think someone else is using it.
- One account is for one person. Do not sell, share or transfer it.
- Your username and streak are visible to friends you add, so choose a username you are happy for them to see.
4.Using Misbatiya well
When you use Misbatiya, you agree not to:
- break the law, or use the app to harass, threaten or impersonate anyone;
- choose a username that is offensive or misleading;
- copy, scrape or republish lessons, recordings, stories or the Harafaat font, or use them to build another product;
- interfere with the service, get around its limits, or reverse engineer the app except where the law allows it;
- use bots or scripts to earn streaks, stars or other progress.
We may suspend or block an account that breaks these rules.
5.Our content and the script
The lessons, quizzes, stories, audio recordings, illustrations, the Misbatiya Harafaat script font, the Misbatiya name and logo belong to Misbatiya or the people who licensed them to us. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them in the app to learn, for non-commercial purposes. The language itself belongs to the people who speak it; this licence covers our materials, not the language.
7.Energy, streaks and progress
Energy, stars, streaks, streak freezes and other progress in the app are part of how lessons work. They have no money value, cannot be sold or exchanged, and we may adjust them, for example to fix an error. Free learners may watch an optional rewarded ad to refill energy.
8.Changes to Misbatiya
We keep improving Misbatiya, so lessons, features and content will change over time. We may also stop offering part of the service. If we close Misbatiya altogether, we will give you reasonable notice.
9.Ending your use
You can stop using Misbatiya and delete your account at any time from Settings in the app (see Deleting your account). We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires us to. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as those on our content, disclaimers and liability, continue after your account ends.
10.Disclaimers
We work hard to make lessons accurate and the app reliable, but Misbatiya is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that the app will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that it will bring you to any particular level in the language.
11.Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Misbatiya is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Misbatiya. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
12.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Misbatiya after that, you accept the new terms.
13.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon, and disputes go to the courts of Douala. This does not take away any protection the consumer laws of your own country give you, or your right to bring a claim where you live if those laws allow it. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to sort out the problem together.
